IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING OUR SERVICES FROM 4TH JANUARY 2022
As many of our clients will be aware, the last few years have meant some major changes in the veterinary world. Covid has placed incredible strain on our teams, both in terms of maintaining our services for our patients and in terms of keeping our team safe and healthy. The veterinary industry is in the midst of a workforce crisis, with a shortage of vets and nurses at a time when pet numbers are booming.
We have worked hard to continue to provide our clients with the best service we can, including measures such as closing our doors to new clients and increasing support staff numbers, in the face of growing challenges. However, the volume of work on an already stretched team is increasing and we want to make sure that our patients and clients receive the best care possible whilst allowing our team an acceptable work-life balance.
Changes to our Out of Hours Service from 4th January 2022
At Peel Veterinary Clinic we know your pets are part of your family and our priority is, and always will be, to ensure they have access to the very best care, no matter what time of day or night it is. For this reason, we are partnering with Vets Now, a dedicated pet emergency service which provides expert pet emergency care when we are closed.
Vets Now is the pet equivalent of an accident and emergency service and the leading provider of pet emergency care in the UK. Based at more than 560 locations nationwide, their vets and vet nurses respond to half-a-million pet emergencies every year.
Moreover, their veterinary teams are specially trained in emergency and critical care and work only out of hours, through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays. That means they are ready and waiting to see you and your pet, whether it’s in the early hours of the morning or halfway through Sunday lunch.
What does this mean for me?
During our normal opening hours, there will be no change in our service. We will continue to provide you and your pet with the highest standards of veterinary care. However, if your pet falls ill and your need a vet while we are closed, when you ring us please follow the directins on the recorded message and your call will be diverted to the Vets Now team, or you can contact them directly on 01482 908169.
